More trouble for Colts tight end Wesley Saunders, who has been suspended for the first eight games of the 2013 regular season for his second violation of the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

Saunders, who totaled two receptions for 15 yards in 11 appearances with the Colts last season, will be eligible to return to the Colts’ active roster on Monday, Nov. 4 following the team’s game against the Houston Texans.

Saunders is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games.

This is the second NFL suspension for Saunders, who sat the first four games of the 2012 season while with Pittsburgh for a previous violation of the PED policy. The Steelers released him after the suspension was served and he signed with the Colts shortly thereafter.

A third violation would result in a 12-month suspension.

He was suspended twice and eventually kicked off the team at South Carolina in 2010 for violating team rules, including reportedly lying to to NCAA investigators over an inquiry into improper contact with agents. He was also among several Gamecocks who lived at a local hotel for discounted rates.
