Ferrell also handed out six assists and grabbed five rebounds for the Hoosiers (4-0) as they continued to roll over the competition. Noah Vonleh registered a double-double with 18 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, while Evan Gordon and Jeremy Hollowell posted 12 and 10 points, respectively.
The Seawolves (3-1) were led by Carson Pureifoy and his 22 points before he fouled out. Jameel Warney logged 19 points and seven rebounds, while Eric McAlister added 11 points.
A layup by McAlister opened the game for Stony Brook, but it wasn’t long before the Hoosiers asserted themselves and moved out to a 41-35 edge at the break. The Seawolves were lucky to be in contention after 20 minutes of action as they shot only 39.4 percent from the field, compared to 60 percent for the hosts.
In the second half Stony Brook again struggled from the floor (.393), allowing Indiana to build a comfortable lead.
Indiana won the battle of the boards, 46-31, and shot an even 50 percent from the floor, all of which helped the squad to overcome 30-of-49 (.612) shooting at the free-throw line and 17 turnovers.
